Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
I am Shane M. Elsdon, The Co-Founder of Art of Loving Center. I grew up on the west coast primarily in Oregon. I spent 12 years in the Navy until discharged as a disabled veteran. Upon my discharge, I managed several companies primarily in the Real Estate and Development fields. I have been an entrepreneur most of my adult life. I have coached several people in their professional careers with great success. I choose to see life through positive lenses and believe that the word FAIL is just an acronym for “First Attempt In Learning”. Those attempts teach us in many ways.
In my personal life, I have 7 children, 2 grandsons and have raised 35 foster children. I spent many years building and developing parenting successes with The Jackson County Foster Parent Association and with parents dealing with numerous issues.
My passion in counseling is helping couples both in parenting but more so in developing a life together where they both can thrive and maintain a oneness.
I received my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Southern Oregon. I have completed Gottman Levels 1,2 and 3 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
My transition to counseling comes from several years of coaching couples in aspects of their life, whether it be the stresses in life like buying their first home, understanding their sexuality together, making life choices or dealing with relationship issues such as infidelity, growing apart, empty nesting, and much more.
I enjoy working with individuals. Over the years I have spent much time helping people discover who they are and what is holding them back from the life they desire.
I look forward to meeting you and collaborating in a way that may benefit you in changing your life in the way you desire it to be.
I am the Co-Founder of the Art of Loving Center with my husband Shane. We decided to open this counseling center based on our years of experience in the corporate and business world and our desire to help people work through the everyday challenges we all often face in our daily lives. We strive to help people work through these challenges to achieve a healthier and more satisfying life.
I received my BFA degree from Texas Christian University. For thirty years I worked in Corporate America at both advertising agencies and mid-sized businesses. As a director level executive, I managed several teams of people with different skill-sets and levels of expertise. I often mentored junior level team members and motivated them to expand their skills and accountability needed to advance their careers. I also collaborated with senior level executives and developed rewarding partnerships with many of them.
I attended Seattle Life Coach Academy and have become a Certified Life Coach through their extensive training program. I have completed Gottman Levels 1 and 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I consciously made this career change because it allows me to pursue my passion of working with a diverse group of individuals while helping them work through future goals and life challenges. I enjoy helping people find their strengths, identify the root of a problem and create a path to reach the happiness they desire and a more meaningful life.
On a personal note, I am married to my best friend, Shane. Together we have seven children. We enjoy spending time with each other, as well as, our extended family. Shane and I love the outdoors so we walk almost everyday. I also run a few days a week. We camp, hike, ride motorcycles, travel and enjoy relaxing at the coffee shop nearby while planning our next adventure together.
I would find it a privilege to thoughtfully work with you in creating a path to happiness and self-fulfillment.
